Permaculture Design Certificate
International Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC)
In-Person Immersion • Atlixco, Puebla

Are you ready to become a designer of living systems and regenerative, sustainable solutions?
The return to Mexico of Bill Mollison’s original Permaculture Institute accreditation
Join the course that will change your perspective on the land, community, and future.
This is not an ordinary permaculture course. We will experience total immersion at Granja Orgánica Tequio (Atlixco, Puebla), following to the letter the original curriculum designed by permaculture co-founder Bill Mollison.
This Permaculture Design Certificate — PDC is based on Permaculture: A Designers’ Manual by Bill Mollison, one of the foundational texts of modern permaculture and the classic curriculum for the Permaculture Design Certificate course. During the course, we will study the manual in a structured and in-depth manner, following its core themes to build a solid foundation in observation, analysis, design, and practical application.
One of the most important features of this course is that it is certified by the Permaculture Institute, Tasmania, Australia, connected to the original legacy of Bill Mollison. Today, our PDC carries this exclusive and direct accreditation from the birthplace of permaculture. Your certificate will have unparalleled value and history worldwide.
The course will be held in a residential format, with accommodation and all meals included, prepared with organic food grown on the farm itself. The experience will not be purely theoretical: we will live permaculture on site, observing real systems, doing hands-on activities, eating from the land, sharing community, and visiting other projects designed by Granja Tequio.

What is a PDC?
The PDC, or Permaculture Design Certificate, is the international foundational training in permaculture. It is the course that introduces the ethics, principles, observation tools, and design methods needed to create regenerative systems on farms, gardens, homes, communities, productive projects, and rural or urban territories.
More than an agriculture course, the PDC is training in integrated design. You will learn to read the landscape and understand the flows of water, energy, soil, climate, vegetation, animals, housing, economy, and community in order to integrate them into functional, resilient, and productive designs.
Course Topics
The course will follow the classic curriculum based on Permaculture: A Designers’ Manual by Bill Mollison, including:
- Introduction: Permaculture philosophy and ethics.
- Design Concepts and Themes: Laws of energy, resources, and yield.
- Design Methods: Analysis, data, maps, and master planning.
- Understanding Patterns: Application of patterns in nature to human design.
- Climate: Climate factors, microclimates, and global design.
- Trees and Their Energy Transactions: The role of the forest in the landscape.
- Water: Harvesting, storage, conservation, and efficient management.
- Soils: Structure, soil life, composting, and land regeneration.
- Earthworks and Resources: Swales, terraces, and dams.
- The Humid Tropics: Specific strategies for tropical climates.
- Strategies for Arid Zones: Design and survival in deserts.
- Temperate to Cold Climates: Strategies for wet and cold climates.
- Aquaculture: Production systems and pond integration.
- Strategies for an Alternative Global Nation: Legal and community aspects, bioregions, and solidarity economy.
- Final project of team design, applying what has been learned to a real-world case.
